You work, pay bills, have a social life (I hope), and take insulin??? Lucky you! 😉
You’re not a kid with Type 1 anymore. You’re not an adult with Type 2. You’ve probably had diabetes for awhile, but it still gives you a headache. You can do the same thing on Day 1 and Day 2 but have totally different results. You’re so over it.
Maybe you just got diagnosed, and you’re finding out that the “honeymoon stage” is anything but a honeymoon. You’re not poolside. No one is waiting on you hand and foot. Now, you’re not even sure if you can have a margarita or dessert when you go out to dinner.
You only get to see your MD, RN, RD and/or CDE for 15 minutes a couple times a year, but YOU are the only one in charge of the rest of the time.
If diabetes was just about insulin, you’d have it figured out already.
You want to start taking care of your body for the same reasons as everyone else — to feel awesome, to look awesome, and to prove to your ex how wrong they were — but you know it’s not that simple.
Exercising with diabetes can be……complicated.
Don’t let that stop you.
You can be fit, healthy, and diabetic. No joke.
Stick around. I’ll be talking more about diabetes, fitness, and other sugar-free goodness in upcoming posts. Enter your email in the form on the right to stay up to date and receive your “Pre-Sweat” Checklist as my gift to you.
